Academic Programs

NYCHP offers three degree programs that blend Eastern and Western therapeutic traditions, preparing graduates for New York State licensure and national certification.

Massage Therapy — Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS)

A 72-credit program completable in six trimesters (two academic years) of full-time study. Graduates are eligible to take the New York State Massage Therapy Licensing Examination and the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) for reciprocity in other states.

Acupuncture — Bachelor of Professional Studies / Master of Science (BPS/MS)

A 145-credit, nine-trimester program awarding a BPS-MSAc degree. Programmatically accredited by ACAHM.

Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization — Bachelor of Professional Studies / Master of Science (BPS/MS)

A 185-credit, ten-trimester program awarding a BPS-MSAcCHM degree. Programmatically accredited by ACAHM.

All programs offer a balance of theory and practical coursework. Students learn both the techniques and the underlying science of their discipline. Flexible scheduling — including day, evening, and weekend course offerings — allows students to attend on a full-time or part-time basis. Transfer credits are available for coursework completed at other accredited institutions, where applicable.

Campus and Clinical Facilities

The College maintains its flagship campus in Syosset, New York, on the north shore of Long Island. Its proximity to all major parkways provides convenient access to one of the world's most dynamic metropolitan areas, while offering the serenity and open space of a suburban setting. The campus is also easily accessible by the Long Island Railroad.

The main campus building contains lecture rooms, laboratories, practical treatment rooms, the Steve Kaufman Library, a bookstore, a physical arts deck, and a student lounge. A cafeteria is located on the lower level.

The academic health care teaching clinics are an integral part of the educational experience. With over 5,500 patient treatments annually, these supervised clinics provide affordable holistic health care to the community while serving as clinical internship sites for students. Treatments include Swedish massage, Asian bodywork massage, reflexology, acupuncture, and herbal consultations.

The on-site Herbal Dispensary carries a wide range of traditional Chinese herbal products — including raw materials, prepared formulas in pill, powder, tincture, extract, and topical forms — as well as homeopathic remedies and nutritional supplements. Both the teaching clinics and the dispensary are available to the general public.

Integrative Medicine Partnerships

NYCHP is breaking new ground by creating a bridge between Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine through an alliance with Bellevue Hospital, a major medical institution in the New York City metropolitan area. This partnership reflects the College's commitment to advancing holistic health care and expanding career opportunities for graduates.
