Institutional Research Reports

The New York College of Health Professions conducts ongoing review of the institution and its programs. The outcome measures outlined in these reports are inclusive of all measures of institutional effectiveness, including student demographics, retention rates, graduation rates, board examination pass rates, licensure rates, and job placement rates.

These reports are made available to all stakeholders — students, faculty, staff, alumni, and clinic patients — as part of the College's commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.

Report Contents

Each annual report includes the following institutional effectiveness measures, broken down by program (Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, and Oriental Medicine):

Student Demographics — Gender distribution, age group breakdown, ethnicity, and enrollment status (full-time vs. part-time) across all programs and trimesters.

1st Year Retention Rate — Continued enrollment after one year from the term of initial enrollment, tracked by cohort.

Graduation Rate — Program completion within the maximum timeframe allowed by New York State (3 years for Massage Therapy, 6 years for Acupuncture, 8 years for Oriental Medicine).

Board Examination Pass Rate — Pass rates for the NYS Massage Therapy Licensing Examination and the NCCAOM examinations (Acupuncture with Points Location, Biomedicine, Chinese Herbology, and Foundations of Oriental Medicine), reported for both first-time and repeat test takers.

Licensure Rate — Graduates who have obtained professional licensure in New York State and/or other states.

Job Placement Rate — Graduates confirmed to be working in their field of study, tracked through alumni surveys and outreach.

Data sources include enrollment reports, alumni surveys, board results from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
