Who can use the New York College of Health Professions Tutor Program?

The Tutor Program is available to any student presently enrolled at New York College.

Who pays for these Tutoring Services?

Both the Peer Tutor and Faculty Tutorial Programs are completely sponsored and paid for by New York College.

Massage Technique classes which include:

  • Swedish Technique I/II
  • Swedish Practice Lab I/II
  • Medical Massage I/II
  • Asian Bodywork I/II/II
  • Reflexology

 

Oriental Medicine/Acupuncture classes which include:

  • Channels and Points I/II/III
  • Acupuncture Points Review
  • Materia Medica I/II/III
  • Chemistry/Biochemistry
  • Herbal Formulas
  • Pathophysiology I/II
  • Western/Eastern Nutrition
  • Internal Medicine I/II

A list of Peer Tutors for a specific class subject can be obtained by contacting the Office of Student Services at 516-364-0808 or acdmserv@nycollege.edu . Peer tutoring sessions take place on campus.
Faculty Tutorial and Midterm/Final Review session schedules are posted throughout the College and are available by consulting the current Tutor schedule.

How long do tutoring sessions last?
The duration of a Peer Tutoring session is at the discretion of the Peer Tutor and student...

The duration of a Peer Tutoring session is at the discretion of the Peer Tutor and student. Students and Peer Tutors are encouraged to meet as often as possible for as long as possible. Faculty Tutorial sessions usually run at hour increments, where as the Faculty Midterm/Final Review sessions usually run for two hours.

What if I cannot attend any of the Faculty Midterm/Final Review sessions?

The Faculty Midterm/Final Review sessions are recorded and posted at Review Videos.

What sort of problems can the Tutors help with?

The Tutors can help with explaining concepts, going through homework problems, and exam preparation.
