About Our Teaching Clinics
As a resource for students and patients, the Academic Health Care Teaching Clinics of New York College represent the integration of health care and education.

For the community, the clinics provide a cost-effective way for patients to benefit from preventive forms of health care and become more familiar with the principles and practices of Holistic health.
For students, clinical experience is part of the required training and is completed under the guidance and supervision of licensed health care professionals. Students working in the clinics learn how to behave as professionals in a health care environment. They are exposed to the responsibilities every practitioner faces, yet retain the support system of their supervisors to guide them in the transformation from student to professional.
Herbal Consultations
The Oriental Herbal Clinic offers professional half-hour herbal consultations to patients at a discounted fee. These consultations are observed by a small group of Oriental Medicine students.
Consultations include a medical intake, a review of the patient's current symptoms, as well as observation of the patient's tongue and pulses.
After the intake, the practitioner writes a prescription, which may be in the form of an herbal tea, concentrated powder, or tablets. Prescriptions can be filled at our on-site Herbal Dispensary.
It is recommended that initially patients schedule appointments weekly to insure they are progressing satisfactorily.
The initial or first visit fee for this clinic is $50. Follow-up visits are $30. Herbal consultations conducted by Oriental Medicine interns and observed by an experienced practitioner are $30.
