The New York College is one of the premiere centers for complementary and alternative medicine in the United States. The College, housed in a 70,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility, is located in Syosset, on the beautiful North Shore of Long Island, approximately 30 miles from Manhattan. Its proximity to all major parkways provides easy access to one of the world's most exciting cities, while capturing the serenity, beauty and open space of the suburbs.
Long Island lives up to its name. From its western tip on the bank of the East River to the fish-tailed fork on the East End, it stretches for 110 miles. Within that span is a wealth of natural, cultural and historic treasures. An abundance of the world's most beautiful sandy beaches surround the Island - from the most popular Jones Beach, to the chic Hamptons on the East End. With close to 1,200 miles of shoreline, Long Island is one of the world's premiere boating and fishing areas. The Island's 15 state parks also offer an abundance of recreational opportunities, including golf courses, tennis courts, riding and hiking trails, even a polo field. Visitors can observe birds and other wildlife - even rare species - at dozens of preserves with trails.
The cultural offerings of the Island are many and varied. The Tilles Center, offers a comfortable setting for concerts: jazz, opera and its own Long Island Philharmonic. The Westbury Music Fair provides a showcase for many world renowned performers. Nearly 100 museums offer insights into everything from fine arts to mathematics, artifacts to vintage aircraft. The Island is also dotted with milestones on the trail of history, among them, Teddy Roosevelt's Sagamore Hill, Walt Whitman's Birthplace and the Montauk Lighthouse, commissioned by George Washington.
Living on Long Island affords the opportunity to take advantage of all that Manhattan has to offer, with an easy escape to a quieter, cleaner environment.
